ALASKA 2011 Air Adventure
Pilots & Crew 04/29/2010
The dates are now set for the 2011 Alaska trip.
We will all start heading for Bellingham, Wa. on
June 17th ( Friday ) 2011 and return home around July 4th ( Monday ).
This will give everyone over a year to plan the
time off for the greatest flying adventure of your life. NO KIDDING !!!
The last 2 trips we have made have been fantastic.
This time of year we have always seemed to have almost perfect weather going
up and coming home.
Keep your fingers crossed for great weather on our
third trip to Alaska in 2011. We are planning on meeting all aircraft in our
starting point, Bellingham, Wa. on June 19th Sunday. The flight will depart
for Alaska on Monday morning for the leg up to Ketchikan, Alaska ( This leg
over flies Canadian Air Space so we don't have to pay all the Canadian fees
and go thru customs.) .
The plan is to work out of a central camp at Wolf
Lake ( north west of Anchorage ) for the majority of the vacation. Keith
Phillips will try and arrange cabins for us to use during the stay at Wolf
Lake. This should give him almost a year to keep telling me that he is FIXIN
to call about those cabins up at Wolf Lake.
I hope the crews will start looking at Day Trips
we can take out of Wolf Lake. Over night trips out of our base camp are also
on the table and remember, the whole group does not have to go on every
outing. If you want to spend most of your vacation napping on the porch at
Wolf Lake ( Jim Vitale ) that's OK .
You can't see but a small part of this great state
in just one trip, that's why we are going again !!!
Please send all suggestions to me at this e-mail
address. I will post other up-dates to all on my Alaska e-mail list as they
become available.
Sincerely
