Propeller group

notes ok
1. Inspect propeller for cracks, nicks, binds & oil or grease leaks.                               
2. remove minor nicks & dress blades as necessary.                 
3. check propeller mounting bolts for security & safety wiring.    
4. check blades for looseness in hub.    
5. inspect spinner screws & bulkhead for cracks & condition.    
6. lubricate propeller per manufacturer's recommendation.    

landing gear group

   
1. inspect landing gear for general condition & security of attachment.       
2. check clearance between mlg actuator rod & trunnion (refer fig.1).       
3. place aircraft on jacks.    
4. clean excess oil off gear legs, struts, etc.    
5. remove all landing gear Gas springs. replace as required.    

6. check mlg actuator fwd rod end attachment stud for condition &

    proper countersunk washer installed. (refer fig. 4).

   

7.check all landing gear trunnion pivot bolts & bushings for 

    looseness. (release pressure on system & unlock down-lock hooks).

   

8. inspect mlg trunnion outboard bolt boss for cracks using dye

    penetrate. (refer fig. 2) two failures have occurred.

   

9. check nlg bellcrank for rigging, wear & looseness with gear 

    unlocked (refer fig. 3).

   

10. check nlg steering arm & linkage for looseness, worn bolts &

       general condition.

   

11. retract gear & visually observe:

       a - rear doors open at start of cycle.

       b - gear position lights.

       c - gear cycle time approximately 8 seconds.

       d - gear warning horn or light.

       e - hydraulic pump light on when pump is running.

       f - rear door close at end of cycle.

       g - hydraulic pump shuts off at 1500 psi.

   
12. check all landing gear doors for fit & operation.    

13. check operation of emergency vent valve. rear doors should 

        manually open freely in vent position.

   

14. extend gear & observe:

        a - rear doors open at start of cycle.

        b - gear position lights.

        c - gear cycle time approximately 8 seconds.

        d - rear door closes at end of cycle.

        e - hydraulic pump shuts off at 1500 psi.

   
15. check door priority valve for general condition & operation.    
16. check operation of hydraulic hand pump.    

17. check hydraulic power pack relief valve operation using

       hand pump. relief valve should unseat at 1800 psi.

   
18. check operation of gear selector handle lock solenoid.    
19. check main gear forward door rigging. see (ref. sb29-52).    

20. check main gear forward door spring tension. 

       (Min. 5lbs pull on door).
