Williamsburg Fly-in

November 5 - 7

Perfect weather created a wonderful setting for a very enjoyable week-end in one of our nation's most historical areas. Tuck and Ann McAtee hosted the event  and the attendees were Keith and Linda Phillips, Heinz and Karen Pierre, Tony and Brenda Crawford, Jim and Gwenn Cianci, Bill and Dianne Johns, Mike Smith and Doug Poli.  Tuck, Ann and their daughter Molly did an excellent job of providing the participants with transportation, scheduling of events and great dining.

Friday was spent touring Jamestown in the morning and Williamsburg in the afternoon.  Tuck and Ann hosted a great party at their beautiful home on Saturday evening.  Excellent Hors d'oeuvres and liquid refreshments preceded Tuck's awesome grilled steaks with all the fixings. A great time was had by all! We also had the privilege of meeting Tuck's son Pat who is flying the Air Force's premier Fighter - the F22.  He is based at Langley AFB where the entire F22 fleet is domiciled.

The Jamestown/Williamsburg Airport (KJGG) hosted our arrival and 6 SX300s on the ramp attracted a lot of attention from the local EAA chapter and airport patrons.  Tuck led 2 flights of 3 SX300s on Saturday morning for an excellent aerial tour of Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown battlefield,  Langley AFB, and the Navy Yards.  Back at KJGG the patrons were treated to multiple fly-bys. After landing there was time for picture taking and answering of questions from the onlookers. Soon after, Keith and Tuck gave some local Young Eagles the thrill of their lives by taking them up in their beautiful SX300s.  That afternoon a SX300 Group official meeting was convened in the airport conference room.  A working lunch was served and serious business was discussed and voted on.

Reno Air Races 2009

To the SX300 Group:

We enjoyed watching Jim Vitale race his hot SX300 N3RT  at the 2009 Reno Air Races.  He has the fastest SX300 at Reno!  We cheered for him as he got his trophy at the award banquet.  Congratulations to Jim!  We love seeing you and #30 Sugarplum out on the course.  Here are a few photos.
